Bible Answer: legsrandall: The word "rapture" is not found in the Bible. The "gathering" is the word a number of versions use instead. May I suggest a book, THE MEANING OF THE MILLENNIUM FOUR VIEWS. EDITED BY ROBERT G. CLOUSE InterVarsity Press Downers Grove Illinois 60515 1977 There have been many reprints and it's easy to order. This book gives you the four positions, Historic Premillennialism, Dispenssational Premillennialism, Postmillennialism, and Amillennialism. I have given out a good number of these books over the years and have yet to have someone say they did not find it very helpful, I am sure you will too. The "rapture" is a hotly debated subject. Ultimately you will have to make up you own mind where you stand on the subject. May I suggest you read Matthew 24, and 25. In forming your theology of the rapture, it takes time to develope your own theology of the end of times. Don't expect to find an answer in a short period of time, it may take you several years.
