Bible Question (short): Can a marraige be saved after adultry? |
Question (full): About 5 years ago, I made the biggest mistake of my life. I committed adultry and am currently paying the price (or so it seems). My husband has been caught in lies about speaking to another woman so I am unsure if he is feeling guilty or if he is using the past as an excuse to leave me. I have asked for forgiveness from the Lord and my husband, I am still troubled by guilt which I am currently praying about. My question is, even though I have layed my sin before the Lord and my husband said, origionally that he forgave me and would never leave me, does he still have permission in Gods eyes regardless if I repented or not? Assuming he is not doing anything wrong and he is legitimately still hurt and angry over our past situation... I just wondered what Gods position may be on this so that I might find some understanding. |
