Bible Question (short): Herod and Pilate Letters non-canonical? |
Question (full): Hi, I am new to the forums and was interested in learning more about the History and Authenticity of the Bible. I have been doing much reading lately in the non-canonical apocryphal books. One book that really struck me was the letters between Herod and Pontius Pilate. These can be found here: http://sacred-texts.com/bib/lbob/lbob29.htm. At the beginning of the letter, it describes how one had been found in France alongside the original, saying it could have been copied. Is this the ONLY reason why it is not canonical? Or is there another reason because of historical inaccuracy? Thank You. Jonathan |
