Bible Question:
Are we born a sinner? I firmly believe scripture Psalm 55 Romans 5 the foundation of OT and the new convenient JESUS basically the whole gospel TRUTH however lately someone I respect for their faith has shared that "yes, we can agree on this All emphasis on ALL have sinned but it's sin in the world that affects a newborn we become a sinner sometime after birth." I'll continue to pray and list scripture for my help and will not allow any divisive behavior to come between us I love this family - only desire to know how to respond in Christ's love to what I believe is deceit they may be trapped in ? Thank - you I'm seeking counsel from other believers too |
Bible Answer: Rom 3:9 What then? Are we Jews any better off? No, not at all. For we have already charged that all, both Jews and Greeks, are under sin, Rom 3:10 as it is written: "None is righteous, no, not one; Rom 3:11 no one understands; no one seeks for God. Rom 3:12 All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one. (ESV) 1Co 15:21 For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead. 1Co 15:22 For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive.(ESV) Psa 51:5 Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me. (ESV) So this brings up the question what happens to a baby/child that dies before he/she is able to make a decision to follow Christ? Is there such a thing as age of accountability? If so, where is it in the Bible? Does 1 John 2:2 give us an answer? Sorry, I occasionally get off chasing rabbits as our pastor says. In my opinion, we are born sinners. You question does bring up another thought, if a baby is sinless, then why didn’t God just have us kill a baby instead of sending His sinless son to be the sacrifice? Brad |
