Bible Question: How does a person discern God's Will for himself? |
Bible Answer: You have received two very good answers already, assuming you are already a Christian. If that is the fact, you have the Holy Spirit living inside of you as your guide. I quote: John 14:26 "But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you." He can't remind you of what you have not heard or read so read you Bible. You need to strengthen your faith which is done by reading scripture. To quote Romans 10:17 "Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ." So yes read and study your Bible daily, particularly the New Testament. You should be reading through this scripture from front to end over and over for the rest of your life hear on earth. Now don't just read it, do what it says, again quoting scripture: James 1:22 "Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says." You must agree that whatever you exercise will get stronger - just common sense. Now the stronger your faith becomes the easier it will become for you to discern God's will for you. |
