Bible Question:
Jesus told the leper to tell no man what had happened between them both, but show himself to the priest and offer the gifts as Moses commanded. Is this text saying that, before Jesus died He kept the law of Moses, offering up the sacrifices that would later be fulfilled in Him? Or is it saying that He taught others to keep the law and not Himself? We know He never sinned so what's the point of Him killing lambs? I guess if He did it, it was for conscience sake as well. Bible Answer: Good evening humility, He was obeying Deut. 10:12-13. Loving God is not exclusive from obeying God. In fact, love is not even first on the list of what the Father expects from His redeemed people, it's in the middle, kind of like a cementing agent for the other 4 "duties" of a saved person. Alex |
