Bible Question: I want to learn the bible and become more familiar with my faith. I was raised as a Lutheran. I was overseas for 9 months and have a New International Version of the bible that I received there. But the more I read it, the more I'm beginning to think I have the wrong version. Can someone tell me which version I should be reading? I realize this is a pretty dumb question but I appreciate any bit of guidance anyone can give me. Thanks! |
Bible Answer: The NIV and KJV are generally good for networking and being on the same page with people around the world, because most people have one or the other. For accuracy, the Concordant Translation of the New Testament, the Aland 27 Greek/English of the New Testament and the NASB of the entire Bible offer a quality of translation that was not generally available to previous generations. If you are wanting to explore the scriptures in depth, getting to the original Hebrew and Greek, Hermeneutica Bible Works (software) is excellent, probably into its 7th version by now. |
