Bible Question: Can someone explain to me where the term and / or the concept of "layman" is at in the New Testament. Specifically in the church. |
Bible Answer: Hello creaston, The concept is from the Levitical priesthood where there is a distinction between those in the Lord's assembly who can approach the Lord and those who cannot. The layman or common person cannot. Since the church practices (or should be) the priesthood of all believers, this distinction should not be made among Christians. Steve |
