Bible Question:
Thank you John. I'll try your suggestion. Did you use worldlingo with the sentence you wrote in Spanish? Or do you speak Spanish? I have a new question: How can I find Principles in the Bible? I want to start teaching a group of kids about Christian Principles (moral principles would be a good start). How do I find them? Is there any tip to recognize them? I have the impression commandments and principles are different, because if I violate one commandment it's a sin, but not necessarily if I don't apply a principle... or am I wrong?.. please help me. Bible Answer: Dear Milena, You are very welcome mi amiga! I hope I'm correctly guessing your gender from your name? ¿hablo español? Muy, muy poco mi amiga! Yes, I did use worldlingo, if I could say 50 words in Spanish it would surprise me. :-) I see Azure has given you a very good suggestion to teach children, but not only the 2 great commandments, the Ten Commandments are what we would call the moral law, and are good to teach children of all ages. I have recently been asked to teach Sunday-school and before I start my lesson-plan every week I listen to J. Vernon McGee's Thru the Bible, (A Través de la Biblia) it is very good very down to Earth and easy to understand for all ages, and, the good news is; they have it available in Spanish at this web-address. http://www.oneplace.com/ministries/Thru_the_Bible_Spanish/ McGee's teachings have been a great help to me and give me a good deal of information to build my lesson on. I use other commentaries as well, but Vernon McGee is my favorite for getting a real simple to understand foundation to build my lesson on, and I am very thankful to our God for giving him to us! To your question; I'm not sure exactly what you are saying, but I'm sure it would be a sin to break any of God's moral laws, regardless of wether we apply a principle to it or not. Ignorance of the law or even the principle of said law, is no excuse for breaking the law; it would still be sin, regardless. I hope this helps you. Just a side note, you may just hit the note button to reply to a post, you don't need to put it as a question, and that way it leaves the home page open for other questions to the forum in general. Would you please give us some information in the user profile? It's always good to know someone a little better then just what we can learn from reading their posts. Milena, I'm so happy to see you are deciding to stay and study God's Word with us. This place is such a blessing to me, and I hope it will be a blessing to you too! God bless John |
