Bible Answer: April 17, 2006 Happy Easter! Dear A-Sojourner: After reading your request, I am not sure what you are asking, since the time has passed regarding your needed request– I am willing to help, if I may. That way if the need comes up again you will be ready. If you are looking for just the regular “Sinner’s Prayer” that would be easy to produce. If you are looking for the Profession of Faith in Y’Shua, do you mean in a Hebrew version and leading someone to Christ? I will use he rather than they or he/she to keep the information as easy as possible to read. Since there are several version of the “Sinner’s Prayer” it is important to make sure that the person you are leading to the Lord understands: 1. He is a sinner 2. He admits that he is a sinner 3. Ask that he be forgiven for his sin 4. Then either lead him (that is what I do) or allow him to ask Jesus into his heart, life, or being. 5. Then I will ask him is there anything that I may pray for you. 6. I thank the person that I am leading to the Lord for his courage and go right into prayer, thanking Jesus that He died on the cross for us, and it is only because Jesus has paid the price of our sins that we are now free from sin. 7. Then I close asking all of this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. 8. I always ask the person what has happened. I have him tell me what happened so I can make sure he “got it.” If he does not understand, what has happened then I go over the gospel again until he understands what has transpired. 9. I will ask him to tell three people what has happened today. 10. If it is a man that I have had the pleasure of leading to the Lord then I have a male from my church follow-up. 11. If it is a woman that I have had the pleasure of leading to the Lord, I will follow up in a few days, meet with her within a week and offer to disciple her. Usually I will disciple the woman 6 months to a year. If there are several women that I have lead to the Lord around about the same time I will start a discipleship group and ask for a six-week commitment at a time as we go through the Design for Discipleship, it has six lessons in each book, and six books in the series. It is an excellent study for new believers. The last thing I share with the new believed is that, right now, all of the “Angels in heaven are rejoicing”. I believe there is no greater joy than leading someone to the Lord and for all eternity, this persons’ life is changed. That is a powerful thought. With all of that said, this may be what you are looking for: http://www.campuscrusade.com/four_laws_online.htm this website is sponsored by Campus Crusade for Christ. They use the Four Spiritual Laws when leading someone to Christ. Initially when I learned “How to” lead someone to Christ, the Four Spiritual Laws method is what I learned and it has served me well. This website has the English version and a 100 other languages and versions of the Four Spiritual Laws, it also includes a Hebrew version. Since I do not read or know Hebrew, I would trust the creditability of Campus Crusade for Christ, as it is an excellent ministry known and very recognized by the Christian Church as a true Christian Ministry. If this helps, let me know, if it does not help let me know, and I will see what I can do. In His heart, your sister-in-the-Lord, Psalm 139:13 |
