Subject: Judas is called the son of perdition |
Bible Note: Greetings Brad! I am very surprised that someone of Pink's ilk would take such an unusual position. Further, his position is fairly easy to disprove. Consider, John 13:27. It says, " As soon as Judas took the bread, Satan entered into him. "What you are about to do, do quickly," Jesus told him," How could Judas be the Devil incarnate if Satan entered into him? Further, it is not true that the word 'devil' always refers to the person of Satan. Here are a couple of verses where the word 'devil' is used as an adjective meaning something like 'slanderous'. a) 1 Tim. 3:11 - "In the same way, their wives are to be women worthy of respect, not malicious talkers but temperate and trustworthy in everything." b) 2 Tim. 3:3 - " without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good," c) Titus 2:3 - "Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good."
