Bible Question: DOES THE ANTI-CHRIST COME BEFOR OR AFTER THE GREAT TRIBULATION |
Bible Answer: Question: "DOES THE ANTI-CHRIST COME BEFORE OR AFTER THE GREAT TRIBULATION"? Answer: The Abomination of Desolation Matthew 24:15-16, 21 (ESV) 15 “So when you see the abomination of desolation spoken of by the prophet Daniel, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand), 16 then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. ...21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, and never will be. In Matthew 24 notice the sequence of events. First the abomination of desolation will be seen standing in the holy place, "then there will be GREAT TRIBULATION." How great will that tribulation be? It will be "such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, and never will be." The Man of Lawlessness 2 Thessalonians 2:1-4 (ESV) 2:1 Now concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered together to him, we ask you, brothers, 2 not to be quickly shaken in mind or alarmed, either by a spirit or a spoken word, or a letter seeming to be from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come. 3 Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, 4 who opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God. What is the sequence of events in 2 Thessalonians chapter 2? "That day" is the day when "the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered together to him" will take place. It is also called "the day of the Lord". What has to happen before "that day" comes? "For that day will not come, unless (1) the rebellion comes first, and (2) the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, (the Antichrist). So, according to these clear verses of Scripture, the Antichrist MUST come BEFORE the day of the Lord -- the great tribulation. Grace to you, Kalos |
