Bible Question:
My friends, A DEARLY BELOVED BROTHER FROM MY OWN CHURCH FAMILY, HAS TREATED ME WITH ARROGANCE AND DISRESPECT. GOSPAL OF JOHN 13;35----I HAVE SERVED THIS MAN CAREING FOR HIS MOTHER FOR MORE THAN A YEAR, AND SHE ASSURES ME THAT IT HAS BEEN THE HAPPIEST YEAR OF HER LIFE, HOW CAN i RESPOND IN LOVE ?? |
Bible Answer: Hello Ashbury, You have answered your own question. In love is how you should respond. As Hank pointed out, this is a situation that should be dealt with locally. You should deal individually with the other person. Do so in love and with a spirit of forgiveness. If that does not bring resolution, seek counsel from the leadership in your church. Remember that your responsibility to the other person is not determined by his response. Matt 18:21-22 21 Then came Peter and said to him, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? until seven times? 22 Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times; but, Until seventy times seven. ASV Ashbury. Read the parable that follows these verses and think about what the Lord is saying. Our sins against God, even a single one of them, is a much greater offense than anything this person can commit against you. We are thankful, as Christians, that God has forgiven us for all of our sins against Him, even those we have not committed yet. So who are you, and who am I, that we would hold the sin of a brother against him? Hope this helps, Jeff |
