Bible Question:
Greetings Kalos and thanks!!!! Now... one more, if I may: I'm reading and I come across this: Bk. Ch. vv. b or c (not f or ff). Does this refrence the second portion (or third) of the verse? This is what I'm taking it to mean. Do I indeed have it correct? |
Bible Answer: Yes, you are correct. A book, chapter and verse number followed by "a" indicates that only the first part of that verse is quoted; "b" would indicate only the second part; and if only the third part is quoted it would be indicated by a "c" following the verse number. So if someone quotes, say, the first part of a verse only, they would correctly reference it as book chapter:versea, for example, Isaiah 59:2a If someone quotes only the second part of a verse only, it would look like this: Psalm 14:3b Grace to you, Kalos |
