Bible Question:
Psalms12:6 The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified Seven times. I truly believe this verse and have set out to bible info and history. I would like to get more info on the greek text that was used for the translation into english of th NASB and also it's origins, Most info I've read mentions text but not which one. I have done a little research on some other bibles and found such names as (KJV)Textus Resptus,(NIV)Sinaticus and Vaticus,I have a need to study the pro's and con's. My goal is to make sure I am getting the pure words of GOD. As it is written! |
Bible Answer: Hello i'm found, The NASB uses the critical text which has it's base in Sinaiticus and Vaticanus. Most of the information you'll find on the internet on this subject is worthless because they are only interested in eliminating the opposing view. That being said, I recommend articles at www.bible.org. Select List Articles By Topic from sidebar on left. On the next window select Textual Criticism. You'll see several helpful articles on the subject. Steve |
