Bible Question: I am a little confused with the concept of Trinity as applying to the Father, The Son and Holy Ghost? |
Bible Answer: Jesus(son)was sent by God the Father(John 7:28) Jesus was sent to us by God the Father (1 John 3:16; 7:28,29). After His work of redemption, He had to go (John 14:28) in order for the Holy Spirit (Ghost) to come (John 16:7). As Jesus (the Son) was sent and had to leave, He also promised that the Father would send another, the Holy Spirit and He will be forever with us (John 14:16). The Son glorified the Father here on earth (John 17:4) and spoke not fo Himself, but from the Father (John 12:49,50). The Holy Spirit glorifies the Son and speak not of Himself (John 16:13,14). The same way the Son (Jesus) represented the Father (Col. 1:19; 2:9), the Holy Spirit will cause us to represent and show the character of Christ (1 Cor. 2:16). I believe that the Gospels show us the perfect unity of God (Matt. 28:19). The Father works through the Son by the Holy Spirit. But yet there is only one God man is created in His image. We are a trinity within ourselves, we are spirit, soul and body (1 Thess. 5:23) |
