Bible Question: Why do many people worship on Sunday and not on Sabbath saturday. Is the sabbath not that important |
Bible Answer: Dear friend, its not that the Sabbath is not important, but rather that Jesus has become our Sabbath rest. The Sabbath was a day of rest, and it was fullfilled in Him. According to Hebrews, we now work to enter into His rest and cease from our own works (like earning righteousness), just as God ceased from His works on the 7th day. We worship on Sunday because that is the day that Jesus was raised from the dead. Hallelujah! He is alive, and no more are we under the bondage of our works to please God. We are not only forgiven, but made righteous in Him. We still practise the Sabbath, but we do so by BELIEVING in Jesus and living in Him instead of by a day. Make sure your trust is in His righteousness today! THIS is the day that the Lord has made. Be blessed in it! CBS |
