Bible Answer: Hello Amanda, The key words in your statements are that you see a lot of red flags surrounding your relationship. As a "baby" christian you are not yet aware of God's prompting of your conscience.Even though you don't quite understand those verses there is something that bothers you.I t is difficult I know when you have strong feelings for someone to put a stop on it but you must find out what God wants for you first and to follow Him.First, the bible tells us that God hates divorce. It says that if a man divorces a woman and that woman marries again then the man she marries is committing adultery. In other words she is not to marry again, even if her former husband cheated on her.A man on the other hand is allowed to marry if his wife was unfaithful to him.It seems unfair to a woman and many of the women of today feel that is discriminatory and not applicable today but God doesn't change not even for so called modern times.I was in a similar position 15 yrs ago and decided to stay single and do not regret it.You will be avoiding many problems especially with your walk with the Lord.Your boyfriend cannot be a christian and have been married 5 times.Do you think that being number 6 will be more successful? You seem to be aware that you are clutching at straws mentioning that he is a" good provider" and" a good man at heart". Some bible chapters you should read are 1 Corinthians 7,esp vs.10,11,34 Romans 7 Unequally yoked means believers should not be in relationships with unbelievers -this includes business partners as well as marriage mainly because you both have different opinions and beliefs of morality ,faith, what is important etc. The word 'leaven ' is used to represent sin ,so in the phrase leaven will leaven the whole lump it means a little sin will affect everything as a little yeast(leaven) in flour will cause it all to rise. I hope this helps and mostly you need to pray for guidance.God wants the best for you and He wants you to study His word which is his son Jesus Christ and follow His commandments -"for this is eternal life.,that you follow my commandments".The best thing to do is wait....like about a year. His reaction will tell alot about him.
