Bible Question:
Hi! I'm a writer working on a screenplay. The central theme is faith - not one faith, just faith in general. I'm trying to convey the idea that one must have faith; reasonable, pure, and accepting faith, before they can expect anything in return. One main character, a 17 year old girl, born blind, is a devout Catholic. Each morning, as she gets ready for the day, she listens to the Bible, memorizing scripture. I'd like to start her off listening to a passage that conveys my main theme (in a Christian context). I'm looking for a passage saying that one must beleive in God before one can expect anything from Him. I've found a few that are tangentially related, but they're all too well known for my purpose. I'm looking for a passage most people haven't heard that would apply to my theme. Does anyone have any suggestions? P.S. The passage should be able to be read aloud in under two minutes. |
Bible Answer: "And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him." Hebrews 11:6 New International Version As far as a lesser known passage that says essentially the same thing, I'm afraid I can't help you there. Grace to you, John |
