Bible Question (short): Passages about beleiving in God |
Question (full): Hi! I'm a writer working on a screenplay. The central theme is faith - not one faith, just faith in general. I'm trying to convey the idea that one must have faith; reasonable, pure, and accepting faith, before they can expect anything in return. One main character, a 17 year old girl, born blind, is a devout Catholic. Each morning, as she gets ready for the day, she listens to the Bible, memorizing scripture. I'd like to start her off listening to a passage that conveys my main theme (in a Christian context). I'm looking for a passage saying that one must beleive in God before one can expect anything from Him. I've found a few that are tangentially related, but they're all too well known for my purpose. I'm looking for a passage most people haven't heard that would apply to my theme. Does anyone have any suggestions? P.S. The passage should be able to be read aloud in under two minutes. |
