Bible Question:
Liliesof the field, Good day to you. Anytime we study the bible it's important that we observe some basic biblestudy principles, one of them can be found in 2 Peter 1:20. No private interpetation. We must allow Gods Word to speak for itself and it does. Here are three practicals that will simplify any study of Gods Word. 1. The verse will interpet itself,2. It will be interpeted within the context, or 3. or a word, verse or phrase has been used beforel. Now with this in mind Read all of 1 Corinthians Chapter one with attention to vs 18-31. When youve done this (take your time, dont rush through this.) then I would like to get your take on verse 29 That no flesh should glory in His presence. What did you learn? In Christ, |
Bible Answer: I have taken great care in reading your comments that fail to attach themselves, or to pertain to the subject matter in question. The subject matter in question is "tongues"... and/or "the speaking thereof in tongues..." The bible chapters and verses you propose are extrapolations not tied to the subject of tongues, nor to the speaking in tongues... The discussion in question, in which you try to answer me, pertains to tongues and/or the speaking in tongues... This subject in question does not pertain to the study of the bible itself, nor to any technics to study the bible with, nor to the subject of interpretation of the bible, nor to propheties, etc., etc., etc. Though, from what I can extrapolate from your comments and invitation to a particular outofcontext study of the bible, you do not profess to beleiving in tongues, nor to the speaking in tongues... Too bad... The Lord never wished to consult you on the subject and with just cause. Because, the speaking of tongue is indeed "biblical" and it is practiced by a great many Christians who have been saved and born again, transformed, who are in the Holy Spirit of God, and who are members of the body of Christ. The Bible is inspired bye the Holy Spirit, and the Lord Himself did approve of tongues and of speaking in tongues. And the Bible offers examples of tongues and of the speaking in tongues. I have submitted biblical text pertaining to tongues and the speaking in tongues, and I stand by them... |
