Bible Question: Not going to church will not keep me from going to heaven. Where in the bible is this statement confirmed true and or false? |
Bible Answer: You are actually asking a very complicated question that could result in an inappropriate answer that deceives many. I like to answer questions with questions - I assume you ask because you do not go to church. If that is the case, why? Yes, it is the case, that we live in the end times and the harlot church is all around us, full of apostasy, heresy, the doctrine of nicolaitans that Jesus hates (perverting grace into lawlessness), etc., etc. Yet, as Paul writes, it is not good to shun collective worship. "Seek, and ye shall find". If you have been orthodox, seek out charismatic. If charismatic, learn the Nicene creed and experience Eucharist as the Real Presence. If liberal, try conservative evangelical. If very conservative evangelical, consider Christ's mercy and love of the sinner, especially ourselves. And, most of all, try to remember how you became His (assuming, of course, that you are), and how you came to know who He was. Perhaps, you heard a message once in a church. I point you to Reveleation 2:4 - rekindle your first love with the Bridegroom, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Spend time with those who also love Him, in a highly imperfect church service, singing His praises, hearing His word preached, and receiving refreshment that comes only from corporate worship. Will it save your soul. I don't know - but it can't hurt. Keep smiling. |
