Bible Question: This might be a silly question, but is kissing ok? |
Bible Answer: Lsumm01 I suspect your a little to young to be on this forum but to answer your question. Kissing is a show of affection, we kiss our parents, friends, brothers and sisters and etc. as a sign of love. Kissing between a married couple again is an act of affection or love. Kissing on a date can lead to other intimacies that ought no occur between non married couples. Kissing itself is not bad but what it can lead to is, unless it is done within the confines of marriage. For your safety and the safety of one you would like to kiss you have to be real careful. Love is not expressed entirely in physical displays, love is doing what is best for the one you love. Protecting your virtue and the virtue of the one you love is more an act of love than giving into the physical desire to be intimate. Also you have to be very careful, what we commonly call a cold sore is a form of herpes. If you kiss someone that has a cold sore you can in fact become infected also. While it appears to be no big deal remember there is no cure for herpes and you will experience outbreaks all your life. You may even pass it on to your children, your future spouse etc. The best advice is really get to know the one your attracted to keeping yourself from becoming physical even to the point of avoiding kissing. If a real love develops and leads to marriage I can assure you the first kiss when the minister says you may kiss the bride will be so special you will treasure it all the days of you life. EdB |
