Bible Question:
Blessings all-REVISED Deuter - in this book, there are references about curses due to disobedience and other acts - I read recently that our disobedience, crime, oppression of the poor, lifestyles, etc. is why America as a country has had terror and other catastrophes to befall us. Does this kind of theology not negate Christ's death for us (to remove the curse)? |
Bible Answer: Dear Walngrace, Christ dead to redeem the elect. This world has much that it wrong with it stemming from the fall. Success, prosperity, happiness, and other worldly values differ from the ultimate objectives of God. The curse that is removed is one that has to do with judgment. You are right, however, that God will ultimately restore even the world. (See Rev 21 and 22) In Him, Doc |
