Bible Question: In Ruth 3:4 (NIV), Naomi instructs her dauhter-in-law to uncover Boaz's feet after he has found a place to sleep on the threshing floor. Well, what does it actually mean to uncover one's feet, is the passage to be taken literally or is there another meaning to it? |
Bible Answer: Yeah... I just now about to answer my own question. Ruth did not literally uncover Boaz's feet, but the phrase "uncover his feet" means to go down to the city gate and search a list posted there, in order to find where someone's "semi-official" residency at the threshing floor is (a place where landowners would spend most of their time). So to translate; Ruth went and found where Boaz was lying by uncovering his feet at the Threshing floor. okay i'm done now. |
