Bible Question: DL5 Thank you for your feedback, I went to visit a church of God church the other day and the worship there was Awesome!!The Holy Ghost was so thick, which is weird becasue I've never seen or felt the Holy Ghost in any other church, and these people (ladies) all had short hair and wearing pant's ect. Their was even a tongues interptaion. When I mentioned this to my Oneness Pentecostal friend who firmly belives that if you are not oneness then you not saved, and she said that just because I went to that "Church of God" church and felt the Holy Ghost does not mean their in the "truth". that God dwell's in worship and where worship is his presence will be even for the unbeliver...(which in her eyes is any other church). Any input will be much appreciated.. trulee6 |
Bible Answer: trulee6 I just want to share a few scriptures with you on the freedom or liberty we have as Christians. If you stand on the Holy Word of God you will find that we are free to worship where ever we feel the true teachings of Christ Jesus is being taught. If a friend of mine for example were to tell me I can't go to a certain church because I belong to this certain church when the Church is the body of Christ anyway, then it would be the same teachings that cults teach. That is how many cults teach so that their teachings stay without question. God's freedom allows us to go to different churches. I go to a Baptist church for example and visit a "Church of God" every once in a while and it bothers my pasture none at all for the true teaching is that we have freedom to serve God. Unless someone has something to hide from you about thier teachings then why wouldn't they mind you going to visit another church? It is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ that saves, not a denomination. KJV 2 Corinthians 3:17 17. Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty KJV Galatians 5:1 1. Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. KJV Galatians 5:13 13. For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. KJV 1 Peter 2:16 16. As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God. Now we know that the Word of God is true and His Spirit dwells within us, and His Holy Spirit will lead us closer to Him. So I encourage you to not be tossed around in the different teaching but to see the Truth of God where ever you go to visit. God Bless |
