Subject: Favorite version of the Scriptures? |
Bible Note: Hi, Emmaus... I have a copy of the Jerusalem Bible and have enjoyed it over the years. I wish, however, that the translators involved in it had spent as much time and energy on the English version as was done on the French version (5 years versus 75, if memory serves). Although it does use more of the poetic form than other extant translations of the Bible, for that reason, I wouldn't recommend it as a study Bible. I'd also tend to be in much more favor of more ecumenically produced translations, rather than a translation produced by a single denomination. In Him, Doc |
