Bible Question: How were people in the bible paid or promoted. |
Bible Answer: PhyllisJ Peopel were paid and promoted in the bible much like they are today. By their worth and going cost of labor. We can see hard work was rewarded. In the story of Joseph Genesis chapters 37-42 we see Joseph sold as a slave eventually becoming second in command in Egypt because he was faithful and righteous but also because he always gave his best. We see the same thing in the Book of Daniel as young men Daniel and his companions found themselves as captives in a foreign land. Yet through faithfulness, righteousness and always giving their employer the best they were recognized and promoted. Later we see in parable of Jesus that workers should be given the wages they were promised. Matthew 20. EdB |
