Bible Question: I see that the Reformation Study Bible will soon be available using the ESV. As I've never used the Reformation Study Bible (it was formerly known as the Geneva Study Bible which used the NKJV) I'm curious as to opinions anyone who's familiar with it has. Thanks. |
Bible Answer: Marathon-man 1025 - If you are a five-pointer who embraces Reformed theology with brio, and if you like the ESV -- which is a slightly revised edition of the RSV -- chances are you will feel at home with the Reformation Study Bible. On the other hand, if TULIP is not your favorite flower, you may want to consider another variety. :-) Reformers by and large give this study Bible an enthusiastic thumbs up. Arminians and other assortments of non-Calvinists appear considerably less inclined to view it with unbridled enthusiasm. --Hank |
