Subject: Suicide.....Hell or no. |
Bible Note: 2 Sam 17:23 Now when Ahithophel saw that his counsel was not followed, he saddled his donkey and arose and went to his home, to his city, and set his house in order, and strangled himself; thus he died and was buried in the grave of his father. 1 Sam 31:4 Then Saul said to his armor bearer, "Draw your sword and pierce me through with it, otherwise these uncircumcised will come and pierce me through and make sport of me." But his armor bearer would not, for he was greatly afraid. So Saul took his sword and fell on it. 1 Sam 31:5 When his armor bearer saw that Saul was dead, he also fell on his sword and died with him. Matt 27:5 And he threw the pieces of silver into the temple sanctuary and departed; and he went away and hanged himself. Rom 15:4 For whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction, so that through perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. "I see the discussion as serving no purpose and its only fruit is more hurt. I repent for having ever commented on the subject and in the further will respond to any such question much the way we respond to the question who did Cain marry. Personally I would like to see Lockman add the subject of suicide to the list of no no discussions." Ed, I would urge you not to pursue such a course to put suicide on the black list. Many people face suicide and may want to know if there's hope. This is a Study Bible forum and God's word not only deals frankly with the subjects of suicide and hopelessness, but gives a wonderful answer to both in the salvation found only in Christ our hope. |
