Bible Question: Why was David allowed to eat the bread of the priests and Saul was condemned for making an illegal sacrifice that only Samuel was allowed to do. |
Bible Answer: Scripture doesn't answer that question. Also we can’t know their heart but scripture does suggest their motives. We see David’s motive David moved out of need while Saul moved out of pride and personal convenience. This is very similar to the Pharisees they kept the law to make themselves appear to be righteous while true believers of God lived righteous within the law trusting in God’s mercy when forced by circumstance to step outside.
