Bible Question: Is there a principle in interpreting the Bible? Do different sects, like Catholics, Anglicans, or Calvinists, interprete the Bible the same way? |
Bible Answer: Hi, Geof. This is a good question. Properly interpreting scripture is studied in a branch of theology called hermeneutics. The different approaches to the scriptures are examined in a discipline called presuppositionalism. You would do well to familiarize yourself with former, and at least glance at the latter. Both will give you a great many tools which you will discover lead to far more treasures of scriptural knowledge. |
