Bible Question: why do some Christian give the excuse that they are of the flesh when they sin so it's okay |
Bible Answer: Paul, after he was saved, said "Christ Jesus came to save sinners, of whom I AM the worst" The I am shows a current state, not a former state. Paul sinned after receiving Christ, just as all Christians shall, admittedly or not. What has happened is some say "well, I'm gonna sin anyway, but since God has already forgiven me, it's ok." I'm not doing the Arminian/Calvin thing. Just going to state what I believe and why. I don't believe it is ok to sin, but then, I don't believe sin can cause loss of salvation. However, sin WILL cause loss of rewards. 1 Corinthians 3:13-15 "his work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each man's work. 14If what he has built survives, he will receive his reward. 15If it is burned up, he will suffer loss; he himself will be saved, but only as one escaping through the flames." If a person continually, willingly sins, then the person must question if he/she has truly received Christ in the first place. Yuke |
