Bible Question:
Why ask Why? Why ask Where? Tim: Why do you annoy users with questions about pesky details, such as "Where is the Scripture that makes this statement?" Didn't you know that this is the Freewill, Freethinking, Freewheeling Forum? At least, that is my perception of it. From my reading of the majority of posts, I thought this was the Op/Ed page of the NY Times. Now we have to back up our opinions with Scripture? How unfair! With tongue in cheek, kalos |
Bible Answer: Hi, kalos! You are right! Having opinions are great, specially if it we can rely on where does it say that... not to listen but to be proven by text that is an exact type of what we seek to listen. Just for example: The Jehovah Witnesses ask: where in the Bible does it say that God is a triune God? Where in the Bible does is it mention the word Trinity? Of couse by such standards it is impossible to use Scripture--I mean unless we are prepare to introduce a new "version" that would insert such titles/words in it. I suggest to you that they refuse to read Scripture and listen--not to the letter of the text, since this is exactly what confused the Masters of the Law, the Sadducees and Pharisees--but to the Holy Spirit who is the only One who can reveal to us the Truth!
