Bible Question:
What would you say is THE key verse in the Bible? If you could just share one verse with the everyone that you met, what would it be? I'm guessing that for most people it would be John 3:16, but I would like to get some opinions. Regards, Huron |
Bible Answer: The central theme of scripture is the redemptive power of God. This theme is embodied in the very person of Christ Himself. It is difficult to choose a single passage that expresses this since there are quite a few to choose from. But I'll pick 1 Peter 1:3 (but I'll cheat and quote verses 2 through 5): "Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time." |
