Bible Question:
I enjoy visiting this site and am amazed at the scriptural knowledge that many posses, however I am upset that many times it seems that this site should be renamed Bibleargument.com instead... I can't count the number of times toungues has been discussed and it seems to me that it has never been edifing exhorting(well maybe in its loosest translation) or comforting... I wonder if it would be possible to actually go through the Bible and study it, maybe even starting at the beggining. I don't think I have ever been in the company of so many with sooooo much knowledge and so willing to share it. I don't know how a bible study like this could be organized, but would greatly appreciate anyones imput who would be willing to participate. in love Mike |
Bible Answer: Greetings Mike! A study is a great idea! I would add one thought about 'arguements' though. I believe there are two kinds of arguements. The first is one where people get defensive, bitter, and destructive with one another. This kind is unproductive and unBiblical. The second is one where people bounce ideas off of one another, challenging and testing thoughts. This kind of arguement is necessary and vital to spiritual growth. There are many idividuals with whom I have disagreed on this forum. Most of them were willing to discuss ideas and sometimes they would changes their views, or I might change mine as a result. However, some are never willing to consider any other viewpoint and simply get defensive and angry. The best advice I can offer is to keep our posts factual, avoid name calling, watch our tone of 'voice', and remember to love one another. Then, even if we disagee on various issues, the 'arguements' will not seem offensive. :-) Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
