Bible Question: Why is the ability to choose od or reject him so improtant in God's plan for man? |
Bible Answer: Dear Samm, God is Holy and He must do all things that reflect that Holiness. You can not love a chair. You can not love a car. Without choice we would be no greater than a clod of dirt. But God has given us this choice to show our love for Him. We are in a battle and the enemy is against God and all that He has created. In God's wisdom and righteous ways of carrying out judgement He has created us to become more honored than the angels. And thus by being such lowly creatures (lower than the angels in our present state), through our choices, these lowly creatures (man, whom have attained the promise) will judge the iniquities of Satan by our choices and show all of Heaven the righteousness of God. (Exo 34:14 KJV) For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God: (i.e. Man - you do not have the ability to create anything higher than yourself and if you try to, I, your God, will show you to be wrong by My jealousy of My creation. This also is known as Love.) (Nah 1:2 KJV) God is jealous, and the LORD revengeth; the LORD revengeth, and is furious; the LORD will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies. The Plan In Very Short Terms: Satan: fallen by choice (Jud 1:6 KJV) And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. (2Pe 2:4 KJV) For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; Man: made lower than angels (Psa 8:3-9 KJV) When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; (8:4)what is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? (8:5)For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. (8:6)Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:(8:7)all sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field;(8:8)the fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.(8:9)O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! Christ: as a man overcame (Col 2:15 KJV) And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it. Church: we see God's wisdom (Eph 3:10 KJV) To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God, The war: (Eph 6:12 KJV) For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Judgement: (1Co 6:3 KJV) Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life? How can you love someone without choice. If it wasn't for choice there would be no cause to be created. If it wasn't for choice Satan would not have sinned. If Satan had not sinned there would be no need for a Saviour. If there wasn't a choice, God would not be Holy. But, if there is any other thing: Rom 9:20 "...Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus? Rom 9:21 Hath not the potter power over the clay...?" He has created us and offers to us a choice; be with Him for eternity or not. I hope this helps, terrib |
