AMPLIFIED 2015 | Judges 7:7 And the LORD told Gideon, "With the three hundred men who lapped I will rescue you, and will hand over the Midianites to you. Let all the other people go, each man to his home." |
Bible Question: In Judges 7 Gideon took the men down to the water and thosse who lapped the water were chosen to stay. What is the significance of lapping versus kneeling down to drink the water? |
Bible Answer: Hi Mamabull, One preacher I heard expounding on this conjectured that the men who knelt to drink were the younger, while the older men were reluctant to get down on the ground, knowing it would be harder to get up again, leaving Gideon with the oldest ones to be in his army. God's strength in our weakness! Love in Christ, Mark |
