Subject: DOES THE BIBLE TALK ABOUT CHRISTMAS TREE |
Bible Note: Sorry Hank, the Bible does talk about christmas trees, see Jeremiah 10:2-3 Don't learn the way of the heathen, don't be frightened by astrological signs, even if the heathen are afraid of them; for the customs of the people are nothing. They cut down a tree in the forest; a craftsmanworks it with his axe; they deck it with silver and gold. The fix it with hammer and nails, so that it won't move. Sounds like the X-mass tree to me. The Bible doesn't give the exact date of Jesus's birth but I do know it wouldn't be Dec. 25 for many reasons, first of which is that He would not have been born on the same day the pagans celebrated the birth of the son god, and second of all in the dead of winter in the Holy land sheperds are not in the fields with their flocks as in the biblical accounts. Jesus was more likely born during Succoth, or Tabernacles the time commerating the time when the children of Israel wandered in the desert and G-d dwelt among them. |
