Subject: Is denominatalism a sin? |
Bible Note: Greetings Grace and Truth! I am being real! :-) How could 1 Cor. 1:10-16 be speaking of denominations, when they didn't exist? ;-) Seriously though, I think denominations were inevitable. Take this forum for example! We all see things differently from one another. Some of the differences are minor and inconsequential, but others are serious. How long would you stay in a local church which saw things differently than you? Would you submit to what the pastor said, or would you team up with people who thought like you? This is how denominations basically came into being. There are many important differences, but most of the differences between denominations are examples of majoring in minors! Even in the first century, there were groups within Christianity spreading false doctrine. When Paul, or another Apostle, would confront them, a division would occur based upon doctrine (assuming that they did not submit to his authority). I wish things were different. I wish everyone thought just like me! :-) But, not everyone does. Well, I've got to run my friend! Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
