Bible Question (short): Was Clopas Cleopas? |
Question (full): While reading about the two on the Road to Emmaus I noticed that one of the men mentioned was named Clopas. I know that Cleopas was the husband of the 'other Mary'. (John 19: 24-26) I wonder if this Clopas here is just a variant on the spelling of his name. Also there is a Simon mentioned I don't believe that it is Simon Peter, so I'm wondering if it might be Simon the Leper. Any thoughts on that? Songbirdca aka Laura |
