Bible Question:
Is there a specific verse in the bible where the Holy Spirit's seven gifts (Counsel, The Fear of the Lord, Fortitude, Piety, Understanding, Wisdom and Knowledge) and shown? I need to know this to reference these gifts for a school project. Also, I'm not quite sure what is meant by "the Fear of the Lord". Can anyone explain this? |
Bible Answer: Hi, Scarlette... There is no single passage that gives an exhaustive list. Furthermore, there is some debate about exactly how many gifts there are. I'd look at Romans 12, 1 Corinthians 12, and Ephesians 4. The fear of the Lord has to do with reverential awe. He is the author and finisher of our faith, He is thrice holy, He is judge, etc. All of these things, if understood rightly, ought to generate a sense of fear, reverance, and awe. In Him, Doc |
