Believers who practise infant baptism understanding it to be a Scriptural practice, or recognise their infant baptism, are welcome as members Do you agree? Is It right? |
Bible Answer: I suppose we should establish what is baptism? What is its purpose? Why be baptised? If infant baptism is right or wrong with should establish why the need for baptism? If as some maintain a person must understand what baptism is and why, before they can be baptised. Then is infant baptism, ie baptism of babies, valid. Is baptism to be view that a child has become part of the Christian faith, even if they have no idea what it is? Is it a symbol of repentance and following Christ? Is it to stop a child going to Hell if they die. The Catholic church have even had children baptised in the womb if there was a chance they would die at birth. Is that a valid baptism? Is it a sign that you have dedicated yourself to God and become part of a certain organisation, as with Jehovah's Witnesses. |
