Subject: How should we as christians greet ? |
Bible Note: Justme, here's the skinny on the way we greet folks in Arkansas. We have kind of a 'code of the hills' way of doing things down here. When we pass the collection hat, we make careful note of the greenbacks people put in the hat, and we adjust our greetings accordingly. The guy who gives only a dollar gets half a smile. Five bucks is worth a grin. Ten will get you a handshake. Twenty is worth a slap on the back. Fifty brings a big hug. A hundred elects you to the board of deacons. No offering at all and we ask you to be an usher and help take up the collection. We figure that maybe those who won't give anything themselves might be able to coax others into giving! And, of course, at the end of the service we say to everyone, "Y'all come back now, hear?" ..... Now be honest. Don't you Show Me's envy the suave and debonair ways of us Arkie Razorbacks? Man, we're like real downtown folks who live in the sticks. --Hank |
