Bible Question: Matt 28:1 and Mark 16:1 are not the same? |
Bible Answer: Mari No they are not. They tell the same story from two different points of view. Neither conflicts with the other. Matt 28:1 says Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came. Notice it did not say just Mary Magdalene and Mary. It merely only mentions those two. In Mark 16:1 His account included Salone. Again there is no conflict since Matthew didn't limit it to just two women. Think about it if they were the exactly the same, many would claim them to be copies of each other. This way each writer is telling the story from what he recalls. If I wrote, I took my daughter to the doctor yesterday. And my daughter wrote, Daddy and Mommy took me to the doctors. Would either account prove the other wrong? No! I just said, "I took my daughter to the doctor." I just never mentioned that my wife also came. while my daughter in her account mentioned that my wife came also. Both are totallly correct and both are in complete agreement. Both accounts are true. I hope this helps EdB |
