Subject: Did Moses or Noah go to Hell? |
Bible Note: Hi BradK, My reply to the original question was a simple explanation of the meaning of the word "hell, which is the common grave where most of mankind sleep in death. In its original languages, the Bible uses the Hebrew word she'ohl and its Greek equivalent hai'des more than seventy times, and both words are related to death. Some translations render them as "grave," "hell," or "pit." For God told the first man Adam after he sinned that he would return to the ground from which he was taken,"For dust you are and to dust you will return."-(Genesis 3:19)This is exactly what happened. As for Job, he lived on to be a hundred and forty years, and he gradually died. (Job 42:16, 17) If you'll look at Acts 2:25-27, where David spoke concerning Jesus Christ,Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell neither will thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. So the fact that God did not leave Jesus in hell shows that Jesus was in hell or hades for at least a time does it not? sincerely, Lana |
