Bible Question: What does the Nazirite vow of the Old Covenant symbolize or mean to the New Covenant. |
Bible Answer: Greetings easyoke! The only reference to your question I can find comes from the Harpers Bible Dictionary. Nazorites (dedicated or consecrated ones)were men or women who entered a consecrated state upon their own or a parents vow. Both Samuel and Samson were consecrated by vows while still in their mothers wombs. In the NT is is likely that one of the significances attached to Jesus' being called a "Nazarene" is that he too should be viewed as a "Nazirite" in the sense of being consecatated to God from the womb. prayon |
