Bible Question: what group of people was exodus written to? |
Bible Answer: Shalom Hannah, I think most people would think it was written to the people who actually made the exodus from Egypt (but they were not allowed into the promised land due to disobedience) so - Deut. 9:6 says, "And these words, which I command you today shall be in your heart. 7 - "You shall teach them to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up." and Deut. 9:10 says "So it shall be, when the Lord your God brings you into the land of which He swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give you large and beautiful cities which you did not build..." There's more to that passage, but the gist is, it was written to the children of the people of the exodus so they could teach their children and those children would teach their children, etc., etc. (Deut. took place just on the other side of the Jordan and the people were getting ready to cross over into the promised land of Canaan.) Hope this helps Cheri |
