Bible Question: According to Exodus were the people of God tested on obedience to the Sabbath prior to them reaching Mount Sinai and if so, does that not mean that the Sabbath was already a law prior to God giving the 10 commandments at Sinai. |
Bible Answer: Hello swerv, Well, In addition to Makarios' answer, I see at least one right off that was tested. Gen 26:5 because Abraham obeyed Me and kept My charge, My commandments, My statutes and My laws." So there it is, the Law of God in existance before Mt. Sinai. He had to have been tested, because it says he was obedient. But, It appears God kept this Sabbath day, as it is written in Genesis 2:2-3, My Bible even references Exodus 20:8-11. It has probably existed as long as God. wordoer |
