Subject: Still Confused |
Bible Note: Hi African Venus, Aaron is said to be the first of the priests of Israel: However, during the conflicts between the Midianites and Israel, according to chapter 25 and 31 of Numbers, he was not present in this particular era of time. Nevertheless, God made a covenant of peace with the children of Israel, declared war via Moses, with the people of Midian, but Aaron was not there. However, in my previous reply to your question; in error I placed Aaron at the scene. It wasn’t Aaron, but his descendant Phinehas son of Eleazar. . As for Aaron, he was already deceased in Numbers chapter 20:28, this oversight on my behalf was ignorance (Lack of knowledge): evidently, God is not finish with me, as of yet. In any case, Twenty-four thousand people had died from a plague: related to sinful acts, committed by the Midian and Israel people, while indulging in the worshiper of other gods. Remember, that God clearly stated in Exodus chapter 20, that He is a Jealous God. Based on Phinehas reactions to the sinful adapted lifestyle of Israel, and his zealous honor for God: the lord God honored the intent of Phinehas heart, and made atonement for the Israelites Num.25. I hope this somewhat clears up this matter; and I apologized for any confusion it may have caused. “God is not the author of confusion, but of peace….” 1 Cor.14: 33. Emmaus, thanks for notes on subject, may God richly bless your ministry. Edd |
